Postby Josh on Mon Aug 29, 2005 12:00 am

Little did we know what the next few days would bring when we left the office that Friday afternoon. But even Katrina couldn't keep us down for long. All of us here at DameWare would like to thank all our customers, resellers, and friends for all their encouragement and assistance during this difficult time.

Interactive Smart Card Login & Remote Smart Card Authenticat

Postby Josh on Tue Nov 07, 2006 1:00 am

Now available in Version 5.5, DameWare Development is proud to offer Interactive Smart Card Login as well as remote Smart Card Authentication

Earlier this year, DameWare Development was contacted directly by members of the U.S. Military, and asked to provide a Smart Card solution for their new CAC (Common Access Card) environment. A solution that would not only satisfy current security requirements, but would also satisfy future security requirements of existing DOD customers. DameWare Development graciously accepted the challenge and stepped up to the plate, becoming the first third-party remote administration software to provide Interactive Smart Card Login, as well as remote Smart Card Authentication. Users of DameWare's Mini Remote Control software now have the ability to access remote machines via their Smart Card and interactively enter the PIN to login, just as if they physically walked up to the console of the remote machine. DameWare Development's software was then tested by the U.S. Army within their strict environment, and proved to meet all requirements while also exceeding all expectations. At the time of this writing, this new release of DameWare Development's software is the only known remote administration tool that is completely CAC (Common Access Card) compliant as well as AGM (Army Gold Master) 6.0 compliant and compatible. "Bottom line is, this version of the software has worked flawlessly for us even with our strict requirements.?We are not aware of any similar product that meets all these requirements."

New FIPS 140-2 Certification

Postby Josh on Mon Jan 28, 2008 1:00 am

DameWare Development, LLC has partnered with RSA Security, Inc. to use the BSAFE Crypto-C Micro Edition cryptography module, which has met all Level 1 requirements for Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 compliance when operated in "FIPS Mode". When this new "FIPS Mode" option is set, the DameWare Mini Remote Control software will exclusively use the BSAFE Crypto-C ME FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic library, which in turn will only allow FIPS-approved algorithms to be utilized. This new "FIPS mode" functionality is included in version 6.7 and above of the DameWare Mini Remote Control software. The FIPS Validation certificate is also available for review on the NIST website: http://csrc.nist.gov/groups/STM/cmvp/documents/140-1/140crt/140crt608.pdf. Additional documentation is available in the internal help file within the MRC software, and in our online knowledge base.
